HUNTINGTON BEACH, California/USA (Tuesday, July 31, 2012) ? The Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) Prime Nike US Open of Surfing is back on this morning in clean one-to-three foot (.5 metre) waves at South Huntington Beach Pier and today?s proceedings are slated to see the completion of Round 1 as well as the first half of Men?s Round 2.

Yesterday marked the commencement of the men?s main event, which saw heavy upsets unfold as several top ranked ASP WCT surfers suffered unexpected Round 1 losses via the uprising of an international contingent of up and comers in the tricky Huntington Beach conditions.

Also commencing today will be Round 1 of the Women?s Nike US Open of Surfing, the final stop on the 2012 ASP Women?s WCT. Women?s competition will unfold in between Men?s Round 1 and Round 2 action.
