KERAMAS, Bali/Indonesia (Friday, June 21, 2013) – With only small surf on offer this morning at the primary venue of Keramas, event organizers have called a lay day for competition at the Oakley Pro Bali.

Event No. 5 of 10 on the 2013 ASP World Championship Tour (WCT), the Oakley Pro Bali enjoyed great surf and barrier-breaking performances over the last three days of competition, completing Rounds 1 and 2 and showcasing the world’s best surfers at Keramas for the first time in history. With plenty of swell projected for the remainder of the window, event organizers have opted to wait until conditions improve before recommencing.

“Waves have dropped this morning so we’ve called competition off for the day,” Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge, said. “We are tracking a few swell models arriving in the coming days and will be back tomorrow morning to make another assessment.”

Event organizers will reconvene tomorrow at 7:30am to assess conditions for a possible 8:30am start.

When competition resumes, up first will be Taj Burrow (AUS), 35, up against Miguel Pupo (BRA), 21, in the opening heat of Round 3.
