Stephanie Gilmore (AUS), 25, reigning five-time ASP Women’s World Champion, has withdrawn from the Colgate Plax Girls Rio Pro.

COOLANGATTA, Queensland/Australia (Saturday, May 4, 2013) – Reigning five-time ASP Women’s World Champion Stephanie Gilmore (AUS), 25, has withdrawn from the upcoming Colgate Plax Girls Rio Pro.

The current ASP Women’s WCT No. 5 suffered a stable fracture of the Calcaneus in her left foot during the Rip Curl Women’s Pro Bells Beach, but rallied to finish the event and compete at the following stop in New Zealand. However, the fracture has yet to heal completely, preventing Gilmore from contesting the upcoming event in South America.

Gilmore has been replaced by France’s Alize Arnaud (FRA), 23, in next week’s Colgate Plax Girls Rio Pro at Barra da Tijuca from May 8 – 14, 2013.
