PIPELINE, Oahu/Hawaii (Monday, December 10, 2012) - The Billabong Pipe Masters in Memory of Andy Irons has been called off for the day with small decreasing swell on offer at Pipeline.

Stop No. 10 of 10 on the ASP World Championship Tour (WCT), the Billabong Pipe Masters enjoyed classic conditions for the opening two days of the waiting period and event officials are anticipating a new swell to ignite the infamous reef later this week for a dramatic finish to competition.

“The swell we had yesterday dropped substantially overnight, so we’re calling the contest off for today,” Marty Thomas, Vans Triple Crown Contest Director said. “We’re expecting a new swell to hit at the end of this week, but we’ll still come back tomorrow morning to assess conditions.”

Event organizers will reconvene tomorrow morning at 6:30am to assess conditions for a possible 8am start.

Surfline, official forecasters for the Billabong Pipe Masters, are calling for:
