PLAYA DE LA CICER, Gran Canaria/Canary Islands (Tuesday, September 10, 2013) - The second to last event on the European Junior series, the ASP 3-Star Men and 1-Star Women’s Gran Canaria Santa Pro Junior is scheduled to start on Wednesday, September 11. While the women’s regional junior title has already been awarded, the Men’s event will play a crucial role in establishing the rankings and could even crown a champion before the official end of the 2013 season.

With more than eighty surfers attending this 2013 edition of the Gran Canaria Santa Pro Junior and a five-day waiting period at the height of European summer, the event should unfold in great conditions and offer the Canarian public an incredible week of action.

Diego Mignot (FRA) 17, current leader of the European Men’s Junior rankings just a few points ahead of his cousin Nomme Mignot (FRA) and Tom Cloarec (FRA), eyes a potential maiden regional title with the amount of ranking points available in Gran Canaria. With a handful of surfers able to get back in the race this week, Mignot will have to confirm his excellent form and defend his temporary leader seat.

The event will be broadcasted LIVE all week, through the official website: http://aspeurope.com/grancanaria2013!
