SNAPPER ROCKS, Queensland/Australia (Tuesday, March 12, 2013) -The Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast presented by Land Rover has been called ON this morning, commencing at 11am at the primary venue of Snapper Rocks.

Event No. 1 of 10 on the 2013 ASP World Championship Tour (WCT), the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast has narrowed the field down to the final 12 surfers and will look to complete Round 5 and the Quarterfinals today, with the possibility of completing the event by this afternoon.

“Conditions have improved with the dropping tide and we’ve called competition ON for an 11am start,” Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge, said. “We anticipate running through Round 5 and the Quarterfinals. However, if conditions are up to standard measured against what’s on offer tomorrow, we will pull the trigger to complete the event this afternoon. Good luck to all our competitors today.”

Up first this morning will be Jeremy Flores (FRA), 24, up against Michel Bourez (PYF), 27, in Heat 1 of Round 5.
