SNAPPER ROCKS, Queensland/Australia (Wednesday, March 13, 2013) -The final day of the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast presented by Land Rover has been placed on hold this morning until 10am.

Event No. 1 of 10 on the 2013 ASP World Championship Tour, the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast will culminate today, the final day of the waiting period. With only three heats left to run and two hours of competition, event organizers will endeavor to run in the best conditions possible today.

“Swell has picked up and it’s a bit big and messy at Snapper and not quite the right tide for Kirra,” Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge, said. “We’ve put the event on hold this morning and will make the next call at 10am at Kirra.”

When competition resumes, up first will be reigning ASP World Champion Joel Parkinson (AUS), 31, taking on Michel Bourez (PYF), 27, in the opening Semifinal of the event.

Event organizers will reassess conditions at 10am this morning for a possible 10:30am start.
