BELLS BEACH, Victoria/AUS (Thursday, March 28, 2013) – Round 1 of the Rip Curl Women’s Pro Bells Beach presented by Ford has been called ON this morning, commencing at 11am in clean two-to-three foot (1 metre) waves at the primary venue of Bells Beach.

Event No. 3 of 7 on the 2013 ASP Women’s World Championship Tour (WCT), the Rip Curl Women’s Pro Bells Beach recommences the hunt for the 2013 world surfing crown and the world’s best female surfers will kickstart their respective campaigns this morning at one of the most iconic breaks in the sport.

“Conditions have improved significantly since earlier this morning with the assistance of the incoming tide and we’ve called the women’s Round 1 on at 11am,” Rich Porta, ASP International Head Judge, said. “We will aim to complete the six Round 1 heats today and have placed Round 2 on standby for a possible start this afternoon. Good luck to our competitors today.”

Up first this morning will be Courtney Conlogue (USA), 20, Laura Enever (AUS), 21, and Silvana Lima (BRA), 28, in the opening heat of the Rip Curl Women’s Pro Bells Beach.

The 2013 Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach will be webcast LIVE via www.live.ripcurl.com and broadcast live on Fuel TV in Australia and Portugal, ESPN in Brazil and MCS Extreme in France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Switzerland and Africa.
